thanks for the kind words ... cost an arm and a leg but was definitely worth it.

now for looks purposes, i am wondering if i should purchase some 6000k HID D2R's to replace the 5000k ones. BUT i am trying to find out if I'll loose much in lumens quality and if it is really worth it.

You loose lumens, but gain the temp, which looks better. If the amount of light on the road means that much to you, than I would just stay where you are at. But 6000k will still light up the road nicely, not really that much less, and most people can even tell a difference, but can tell that the difference in color.

EDIT: and most people CANT even tell a difference

donjuan, thanx, i may buy the 6000k d2r's afterall then, if i wont loose too much light output, cause i do drive non lit highways everynight and i want the best visibility possible, but also want my lights all to match.

thanks man... its a full 6k kit...

As for the 6k losing light output, it definitely is true. My 6k headlights don't compare with my friends oem xenons in terms of light output... his definitely light stuff up a bit better... but, I like the way the blue tint looks on the ground as it gives everythign a whiteish look.. the oem lights still make things look a little yellowish.

I would go 6k if you can afford to drop the money just for a temp change...oterhwise, stick with 5k

sanyomats, thanx for that info, and 2000 328Ci, thanx for the info on the 6000k compared to the 5000k. I believe i will stick with the 5000k HID. that is what i need, more lumens and light output, I guess I'll just have to sacrafice a bit of looks for practacallity.
thanx again gents

if you really want maximum light output, switch down to 4300... you will notice the difference. 4300 puts out the maximum amount of lumens which is why BMWs Mercedes and Lexus all use 4300 HID from the factory
