Finished…. I put the rubber boot on after I finished the SSK and before I put the shift knob back on. I didn’t purchase the shifting boot yet.

Anyways we are nearing an end but first in order for you to start the car you will have to trick the car. You will have to supply 12v to the EWS located at one of the auto transmission wiring harness. Simply take a piece of wire and connect one end to the other.

Jump the car if necessary, like I said before I had my car sitting for 3 months although it only took me about 12 days of actual work. Lower the car off the jack stands reconnect the battery if you haven’t down so already and turn her on. The car started up on the first try and after driving for about 2 weeks it’s really made a world of difference over my previously slush box, especially with the new aftermarket goodies I have.

Just a note, you will get a transmission failure indicator on your dash like this:



But that will disappear once and if you decided to get the cars DME flashed at the dealer.

Cheers. Amazing write-up. Are these instructions, all one would need, to perform the conversion? Did you include all details? I'm going to start purchasing the products to do my own conversion now, thank you so much for the knowledge and motivation to do it myself.

Thanks yeah thats basically everything except I didn't include the torque specs for the bolts but if you are doing this kind of work, it would probably be best just for the torque specs alone. I still need to fix the links for some 20 odd pictures that didn't display correctly.

Not sure...

I think some of the differences between 5 and 6 speed besides the transmission are the driveshaft, clutch, flywheel and linkage but I could be wrong since I haven't really looked into it.

Great DIY Jared. Now you can actually enjoy the car. Between the new, lighter tranny, automatic's rear 3.46 diff, and UUC products, this car must be alot quicker than a stock 323. Can't wait to drive it.

Not sure...

Thanks everyone for the compliments, I hope it does come in use for those who want to attempt this.

Just one wuick question to everyone though. Do the thumbnails load correctly? And when you click on the thumbnails do the full size pictures load correctly?

For some reason well on my computer at least, it seems sometimes the picture links don't redirect properly or something.

Well thats just it, I didn't enter in the following text like you mentioned. For some reason it was altered after I made the posts. I had done a series of test threads in the test thread forum and got everything working correctly there.

It's funny because at first when I had to go back and edit a few posts I noticed all these extra unnecessary characters and just fixed them before I resubmited. Anyways good thing I have everything saved (working links and all) in a Word document.
