Headlights stay on?

Okay...I think I'm getting to the root of my weird headlight issue:

issue: if the direction lever is on low beams...my lights will come on regardless if keys in ignition. if you put the lever in high beam spot, the lights go off. so i am forced to leave the lever in the high beam spot all the time.

this doesn't happen all the time and confuses me when it does. however, i think this phenomenom has something to do with me washing my car and /or when it is really rainy out...i think.

does anyone know what could be getting we that would cause such a phenomoneom?

sounds like a case of daytime running lights. gl with that as dealer won't reprogram it for you.
