3.64 Diff, 4K Miles - *Rare*

3.64 Diff, 4k miles - RARE!

I have a 3.64 diff from a Z4 2.5L Auto with only 4k on it. This has a finned diff cover and already has an imput shaft to fit a 330. I had this in my car and it worked wonderfully, but I have far too much power and needed a limited slip unit.

This diff will transform any E46 (non-M3). Recommended to be used a 6spd tranny car to retain an overdrive gear.

This is a VERY, VERY rare diff ratio to find and is the one of choice for performance from Turner Motorsports and Bimmerworld on their project cars.

The diff has already had two oil changes and is in perfect working condition - ready to ship.

Asking 750 + shipping - I paid over 1000 for it.

(*Copied from Modena NYC's thready b/c we have the same thing to sell!)

Thanks!

You could ask on his thread since youa re buying it from him .

I recommend this diff for an non-M e46 3 series and Z models... You will have more pull and every gear and will jump off the line much faster.

That really depends on how much highway driving you do and whether you have a 6th gear. Mine didn't drop much, if at all. I purchased this diff once i got my ZHP 6 Sp.

Well I do have a zhp with a six speed and 60% of my driving is on freeway. I've been reading up on these and it's been speculated...but not exactly confirmed...that gas mileage will go down noticeably with a 3.64 diff, not so much with a 3.46. I was just wondering if you had documented any difference with your driving experience. So when you say "not much," what is the exact figure?

Mike, curious ... how much did your RPMs jump in each gear 1-6 with this new diff. What is needed to install this on a 2004 330ci with 6spd, everything included? I assume this is not LSD, what is needed to make it LSD. Furthermore ... Im a bit of a newb regarding diffs, does LSD refer to our cars DSC ... ? Im concerned because I drive in the winter and no DSC is a big no no!?

I'd say 1 or 2 MPG.

This boils down to a mathematical calculation assuming ideal conditions...

From a 2.93 to a 3.46 there is an 18% change

From a 3.46 to a 3.64 it's about 5%. So I would say that the change is neglegable. I'd take a look at the gear calculator at http://www.bmw330i.com

Canadian: This has no effect on DSC at all. LSD is a mechanical Limited Slip Differential, while DSC is purely an electronic function.

BUMP for Mike! I bought a 3.64 recently! so worth it!

Car pulls harder, expecially in 5th and 6th gear (considerably harder). I noticed 6th gear@70mph= 3K RPM (about)

Yes. You might have to swap the flanges but that's easy.
