ebay headlights: Helix or Depo?

Which manufacturer has the best reputation? Or are they the same?

And NO, I will not buy Projector46's.

Helix:

Depo:

I'm kind of sceptical, but will those angel eyes that are preinstalled (or molded to the light itself) but CCFL and as nice as Umnitza? Or are they the real cheapo looking ones you see rolling around.

On the Helix ones, if I look closely at the headlight cover near the bottom center, I can sort of see the letters D E P O on them.

I don't have experience with either of them, but I'm willing to bet that the internals (projectors and cutoff shield) are all the same, as well as the dimensions for the highbeams (which in fact, are NOT the same dimensions as the OEM units, they are smaller and put out less light than OEM ones, I've done measurements)

I really like that OEM colored angel eyes as well, much classier IMHO.

They are not the CCFL based angel eyes but rather powered by a few halogen based 194 bulbs. They aren't even close to the brightness of our Predator series angel eyes that are preinstalled in all of our Projector46 headlights.

Both of those links "look" cheap, but they are normal pricing.
$55 for shipping brings the total to $260 for both (roughly).

And if one of the bulbs burns out, you have a problem, etc., you run the risk of never getting support for them once you "post your feedback".

While all 3 headlights are DEPO, some of them are older versions, some are identical to what we modify to our specs. There is no such thing as a Helix brand mostly because they slap a DEPO box out the door with no mods to the headlight. Now, if they modified parts, then they could probably rebrand it.

We do a lot of things to the DEPO to make it a Projector46 that make it well worth while to "take the leap" and go to the next level of support and quality product. Just a commentary to those of you reading that are not the original poster.

I don't really care about the DDE's because I already have predator chromiums of my own that I can just transfer over.

Does anyone know anywhere I can get these headlights sans DDE?

We can sell you a set sans DDE but realize that you will have to do some custom work to get the Chromiums to fit in correctly.

That's fine, I'm going to be doing some custom work anyway. How much?

BTW, the reason why I don't want to buy P46's is because they're too expensive for what I'm doing. I can't justify spending $400 on something I have a 50-50 chance of ****** up. I'd rather buy something for half the price and see what happens. fyi I plan on doing quad projectors and powdercoat/paint all the chrome..
