yeah i am curious as well - i have heard that lightweight flywheels tend to generate an annoying "chatter" at idle... Would like to know how UUC's and other manufactuer's fair...

i have a fidanza unit i got from tckline... he custom ordered a 228 mm flywheel to fit the 2.5l engine/clutch assembly. It is my understanding that the 240mm clutch (328/330) won't fit the getrag trans, which tckline and the shop i took it to confirmed, but I/they could be wrong.

anyway, the chatter is pretty loud, but inside the car it really sounds like a pur, and it's pretty quiet. the rattle doesn't go away even when driving, but it turns into a hissing noise at higher rpms. sounds like your exhaust is vibrating. it most likely due to the lack of dampening in the flywheel/clutch assembly, and vibrations now travel into the tranny (i think).. it also changes the sound of you engine. At full throttle it has this metal tune to it (i love it).

However, in 5th gear @ 2500 rpm it sounds really nasty. the vibration resonates through the whole damn car seems like.

these are some of the side-effects i get with mine. UUC's unit may be better, i don't know. i honestly thing these are a small price to pay to get the advantages of lightened flywheel, and the performance gain is only one of many.

I guess the noise will get annoying after a while. Too bad.
