Black window trim to replace chrome on coupe???

Whats up guys/girls?..I want to change the chrome window trim on my 323ci to the black window trim that comes on the performance package and M cars..i've heard some talk about a special tape that can simply cover the old chrome trim..does this work?? (pics would be appreciated!) And if so, where can i get it?
If the tape is a bad move, what are my other options in making the trim black? I absolutely hate the chrome

You can find that tape on ebay (shadowline tape) or paint it black (DIY section)

I'd say paint your trim black w/ paint b/c the tape might not be wide enough when you're working on the rear section near the backseat windows.

Good Luck!

I tried to use vinyl. Is a PITA but it will work. Word of advise, start from the back, if you get the back done the rest is down hill. The only reason I didn't finish it was because I went through my supply of vinyl. Just be careful when streching it it will rip. I did manage to get the Kidneys covered though and it does look nice.

Don't waste your time with tapes/vinyls. It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when it will start to peel. Search Google for a product called "SEM trim paint black". This stuff is specially made to paint aluminum window trim and doesn't require any priming. I removed all the trim from my car, painted it with this stuff, and then reinstalled it. You can't even tell it's not OEM, even looking at it from every angle.
