Unhappy xenon failing

whats up everyone new to this forum and got a question. Recently my driver-side lamp won't turn on in the mornings. I thought it was the bulb so I swapped it w/ the passenger one and still same problem on the driver side. I then tried swapping the ballast and still the problem stayed on the same side. What else could it be? The ignitor? And why only when it's cold outside?

yeah, if its not the ball;ast or the bulb, then its the ignitor. If you're under warranty get the dealer to replace it, b/c its a major PITA to pull the projectors out to replace the ignitor

Just came off my warranty my car now has 65k and now getting the failures. I want to fix it myself and avoid going to the stealership but I know how much PITA it is to change the ignitor, just want to if thats the only onther thing it might be or if there's something easier I could try first.

To replace the bulbs isn't really hard it's the ballast and the ignitor that'll get you

The ballasts are actually fairly easy to swap, but the ignitor is a PITA. Look on eBay for the parts though...I got my replacement ignitor and ballast for $125. Most common problem is the ignitor. While you're doing the job, get a new gasket at the very least and new lens cover if you have any cracks in it. Moisture sucks!

To swap ballasts, unplug the power and unscrew the ballast from the headlight assembly. Once out, remove the screws holding the bottom plate. That will separate the harness going to the ignitor.
