did anyone else have a effing hard time with depo smoked corners?

ok i just got a set of DEPO Brand crystal smoked corners.

so i tried to just pop out my oem clears and pop this in, but they just dont go in to clip. i tried and tried, forced it but it just wouldnt budge.

so i searched the forum, found a thread where it said you needed to trim the rubber around the housing and make sure the prongs are the same size as oem clears.

so i measured, sanded to make sure prongs are same exact specifics as oems and cut out the rubber. NO GO!!! same thing they just dont budge and snap in.

so i figure maybe the rubber needs to go, i completely shave the rubber until i cant anymore without shaving plastic. still no go!!!

so then i read on another thread that someone unscrewed the headlights, pushed it out a little and snapped it iin to the housing that way then pushed the housing back in. NO GO again!!

it clips in the housing when its out, but when i push the housing back into the car, it forces the corners out again. i spent hours trying to get it in until finally one of the corners broke a clip. i am so PISSED OFF POS corners. cant even get a effing fitment correct!!

anyone sell cyrstal smoked corners with guaranteed fitment?
im about to slam these corners onto the floor.

EDIT: also what type of clip style is this?

That's very odd...ours were a tight fit but they were easy to put in.

i've seen quite a few on ebay and a lot dont look too great. are these also depo? and you said you guarantee fitment, if it doesnt fit i can return them right.

thats y i always recommend OEM, y dont u just put some tint film/spray on your current clears?

i did, wasnt satisfied with the way they turned out.

God ****ing damnit, same thing here! I got mine from emotion garage, they are the same ones as jlevi sells, JL how do you GUARANTEE fitment on a part like this that is known to have oddities from car to car? I can take mine out for example and clip them right into another, but wont clip into mine, yet the oem click into both without issue. I still have one on the right that pops out sometimes, its driving me crazy.

They are DEPO brand and we have had nothing but positive feedback about the sets we carry. In fact, we have a set on our own car and while it was a tight fit, it seemed to fit just as well as OEM and was a bit more snug.

FYI The emotion garage ones are also Depo, the exact same ones JLEVI sells. Something is just inconsistent with them, there are people that can snap them right in. I tried everything also, sanding, trimming, pulling the headlight out etc.

If you are unhappy with the set, just send them back for a refund. Easy as that

yea with emotion garage, they have that big disclaimer saying to make sure order is correct because they dont take refunds or whatever, id rather not go through the trouble if i cant return it just in case it doesnt fit, ill pay the extra $10 to get it from JLevi knowing i can return it without any problems.

EDIT: also any chance you guys can do a fitment test before you ship it out

y wouldnt they be able to, if it fits on one coupe it should fit the rest of the coupes just like the OEM clears snap right in no matter what car its in. if it doesnt then there is obviously fitment issues.

Unfortunately we don't have a car to do fitment tests on at this time.

I bought my Depo's from ebay, CHEAP, perfect fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
