Twin Screw Difference

Are there any significant difference between the AA Twin Screw and the ESS Twin Screw? It seems like the AA put out about 25hp more than the ESS.

...but also a little less torque. Also, be careful comparing dynos generated on different machines, under different conditions, etc, etc... and certainly don't base your purchase decision on one vender advertising a marginally higher peak number than another.

The basic designs are very similar. The differences are in the small details.

For example, the ESS intake manifold is design to support the SC by itself. It appears from the pictures that the AA kit also uses a snout bracket. You'll need to talk to AA and ESS to determine the significance of this difference. Obviously, the ESS kit will bolt on a little easier. But it might also be a few pounds heavier (not that either of these really amount to a hill of beans).

The ESS kit is designed to retain the stock air box and filter. The AA kit appears to utlilize their snorkel type CAI. Do a little web research and decide for yourself the merits of each approach.

Lastly, the biggest difference in the two kits is going to be in the tuning. Study the dyno graphs from both kits carefully after both vendors provide results from their final tuning. I'm not talking about examining peak number here. Look at the shape of the curves and compare power delivery across the rpm range.

Beyond the engineering of the kits, consider the reputation, availabilty, and accessibility of the vendors themselves.

I've deliberately tried to avoid sharing my own opinions as to what is good or bad about each of the kits as I don't want to start a war of opinions here. I've merely tried to point out some of the more obvious differences in each of the kits to get you thinking about the right kinds of things. I'm sure both are good kits and you would ultimately be happy with either. The kit that I consider best for me based on my personal wants and needs may not be the best kit for you. That said, I do think one of the kits looks promising... and I have a few minor concerns about the other.
