I guess everybody has their own opinions.
For me, BOVs are the most retarded mod you can put on a BMW. That sound belongs on a r1cer toy car, and NOT on a german sports car whose engine sound alone is enough to make any BMW fanatic drool. A BMW should growl, not hiss for f*cks sake!

Hahaha. I agree. He said the exact same thing 4 times. BMWPower06, if you don't like the sound then shut the f*ck up. I'm not a big fan of the 335I but that sounds sick.

I like BOV's, at least some of them. It really depends on the type, etc. Some sound accurate, others not so much. If he wants to announce he's turboed, who are we to judge him or her? Is it because we don't have turbo's ourselves?
There will always be hypocrisy about things like this. Heck, AC Schnitzer has some "ricey" looking mods (decklids most notabley), but since it's a premiere German tuner it seems to get a pass. Only because there are so few turbo German cars (except for Audi/VW). There are lots of those guys with BOV's, other mods, and I hear tons of kudos. So, it's okay for them, and the...umm, "ricers" to do it? But heaven forbid us "better than everyone else" BMW owners shouldn't, or we're some equivalent of a sell out? To some of you, get off your pedestals, guys. We're not that special. More to life than hating a 335i with a BOV.

Does the new bmws have any break in periods or you just drive the hell out of it like that guy did, revving it all the way up and dragging it out.

If all it does for the 335 is give it sound, then it is pretty stupid. Something tells me that BMW already has engineered an appropriate bypass/compensation valve. I know that these things can screw up Audi turbos, but people continue to do it because it sounds "cool".
To each his own - in the end it is no one's car but yours. It does make me feel a little bad, though, to see people putting non-functional (or counterproductive) things on their cars. Maybe a giant spoiler to give you more "down-force". |

Well im saying, its a perfect alternative to the relatively "cheap" modifying of the turbo cars such as the STI/SRT4/Evo that is in a BMW wrapper and classier. For those who can afford it they love it because of the modifying capability, alot are going to be tasteless with BOV's, FMIC's with hardly anything else done, but w/e!

Gotcha... I never modified any car with forced induction, being the 335 I Turbo is very affordable, in BMW trim: it's tempting to just pick one up, and mod the =F out of it... B/C I've seen what other Audi B5 S4 owners have done with those cars.

the 335 is sick and if the 3 series is as fast as it is i can't wait for the new m3. It is about time BMW put forced induction in there lineup because BMW was getting left behind
