ugh... all black leather sucks so much. I remember having to shine boots. Once you get a good base shine down, it's pretty easy to maintain. Getting that first good shine is tough, though.

I always kept two pairs, one to get messed up out in the field that I would keep black, and one that always had a high shine for inspections/garrison wear

a laser is not visible traveling through air, no matter how powerful it may be. Only if there's a lot of dust (we see it here) or fog would you be able to see where the laser is originating from, and be able to see it's path of travel. And in that case, everything that the beam is traveling through will significantly reduce its range.

plus, the angle you'd have to get in order to actually shine a laser, from the ground, into a pilot's eyes...

remember that in an aircraft, the windows are on the top half of the fuselage, angled up. You'd either have to be looking at aircraft on the horizon (in which case, good luck finding a civilian laser that has that kind of range), or position a mirror on a blimp above the aircraft.

I call on this story

That's just one story of many. As I mentioned before, a friend of mine had cops show up to his apartment because he was shining the laser beam at jets that were coming in to land. He was also shining it around downtown and apparently multiple people called the cops. The ATC's reported that they kept seeing the laser hit various planes as it came in on approach.

Honestly, who is that bored that they are shining lasers at planes?

My friend is a stoner who is also extremely lazy. Couple that with the fact that this was during college, so....that saying about idle hands seems appropriate here.

With this one? There is a lot to do. It can burn from a good distance and the beam is visible for >10 miles. I might get some prisms to play around with. There aren't any other 1W lasers out there for the money. I used to have a 95mW green laser and it never gets old playing with it at night. This one will be a little different because I can't go around shining it through windows; it's too powerful

I understand what it does. My question was more what is it's utility? What do you need to burn from 2 blocks away? I guess it's more of a play thing if I'm understanding correctly.....

Yeah PX4 type F in 9mm. The recoil is relatively nothing, the accuracy out of the box is great and it's very comfortable. Hadn't been shooting in around 4 years until last friday when a couple friends and I went to the range to rent a bunch of guns to figure out which we preferred. I was concentrating on full size only and tried the PX4, Glock, XD9 and about 4 others. All three of us agreed that we liked the PX4 the most so 2 of us went out and picked them up on Monday.

Put 150 rounds through it yesterday, mostly quickfire and with little aiming (i.e. shoot the bad guy not try to get dead center of the target every shot). Of the last 50 rounds, I had 7 that were outside the "X" or "9" area on the target (about 4" area) at 7 yards. I'll be back to the range tomorrow to go for more precision shooting but I'm really happy with it so far. The rotating barrel really helps with recoil.

A member of the local motorcycle forum said he has the same gun with Trijicon sights and uses it for his competitive shooting weapon.

dude - genuine cable to match the ps3? seriously? there isn't any magic in the cable nor can u see the f'ing thing - you got ripped off for something you could of purchased for much less. That's how places like best buy make money. by ripping off customers with cables.
In hindsight, you're correct...but another $15 didn't kill me. I will know for next time though.

Nice stand, but I find my laptop gets too hot with the lid closed.

That is so sick, congrats. That is quite the setup.

Im obsessively checking the tracking number for updates on where my watch is that I ordered Friday. It said it went through the sorting center in Chicago yesterday morning and was in transit which was odd since I thought Customs would hold it up (it came from Hong Kong). Ill post the details and shots of it in the watch thread when it gets here.
