What kind of headlights are these?

Hi guys, I'm new to bmw, and I just got my car used from a broker. I have 2004 325 coupe, and I'm wondering if the lights on this picture are halogen. I haven't been able to find any reliable source of info or not, so I'm sorry for the noob post.

They look like xenons to me (I'm inexperienced, heh) but I know they're not. Also, if anyone has any experience with headlights such as these, how easy is it to replace them with Xenons.

Also, I don't think they're xenons for a couple of reasons:
1) they're not very bright and don't have a very wide radius.
2) They're yellowish like regular headlights.
3) The bulb only cost me 8 bucks to replace at the stealership and I got a regular headlight bulb...

Well if that is true, those are regular halogens. Previous owner updated to P46 or something of the like, and didn't opt for the HID Kit along with the headlamp upgrade.

Get us some night shots from about 10 yards from a white wall or garage door. Nice car.

K, Ill take some pictures - if the previous owner did upgrade to p46, how much would it cost to put some HIDs in there?

Should be < $300. I know Vision Bulbs has a kit for 259, but I dont know if that will plug right in to your current headlights.

No problem man. Thanks for those pictures. Those look like halogen lights, because when the flash is on, HID kits should look more white than what yours is. Out of the first two pictures, which one represents best what it looks like in person? And if your headlight bulbs were only $8, then they are halogen for sure.

that looks like Bi-xenons to me. When you flash, the inner high beams didn't come on, but instead the low beams turned into high beams.

Also it's weird that your low beams seems very yellow.

Look or feel under the headlight assembly. Is there a ballast, it should be right underneath the high beam area.

Best way to check is flash your high beams and see if the inner beams come on or if your xenons just flip up.

If you do not have HIDs, you can always purchase one of our ProLumen HID kits for your stock headlights.

So when you replace stock projectors with HIDs, the inner high beams no longer come on, the HID lights just get brighter?

How hard is it to replace those lights with HIDs? Do I just have to replace the bulbs? Or is it more in depth than that? I looked for info at JLevi, but didn't really know what I was looking for. The only ProLumen kit I saw said 'give your OEM HIDs a fresh new look' - I don't have HIDs, when I flash the high beams, the inner lights do in fact turn on, and they're very white, not the orange/yellow color of my low beams.

EDIT: Oh, what kind of software, if any will need to be installed? Will I have to do it at the rapist... err dealership or will an indie shop be able to do it.

I appreciate all your help folks, I'm still a bimmer noob, and don't know what I'm doing. Thanks.

The HIDs will just replace your stock low beams with xenons. Your inner high beams will still come on when you pull back the stock.

The install is 100% plug and play. You just replace the old bulbs with our new HID bulbs. You will then need to plug in the ballast and igniter which plug directly into the stock wiring and back of the new bulb, there is no wire splicing at all as it uses clip together connectors like your stock wiring.

We don't have these on our website because we are running a GB special on them for $275 shipped. If you would like to order, you can either call in (1.888.JLEVISW) or just send payment directly via paypal to paypal@jlevisw.com.

You will need to go to the dealer to have your ECU flashed to accept xenons in order to get rid of the bulb out warning. Likewise you can also purchase a set of resistors from www.thexenonstore.com to eliminate the bulb out warning.
