Just traded my e46 for an e90!
Well, I finally pulled the trigger and traded in my e46 for an e90. I love the new style, and my new car has more technology/toys than the old one, but.. I have to say, I miss the e46. The new ride definitely is more "detached" than the old one, and the new run flat tires are total crap. I am posting this, because if you are like I was, wondering if you should put more money into your existing car vs. trading- I have to say- the car you have now is awesome. The other funny thing, is I was getting tired of some of the e46 quirks like bad window regulators, peeling plastic etc. The e90s have some of the same quirks, they have fixed some, and there are some new ones! I would have sold the old car eventually, but my advice is don't do it unless the new ride has everything you want, & be prepared the new ones are not perfect.. Well, I have made my bed, so I will go lie in it with the e90 fanatics...

Thanks for all the congrats- I definitely think my e46 looked sportier, part of that might be coupe vs. sedan too... I went with a 325 leftover vs 328 b/c it was significantly cheaper & only 15 hp less (which can probably easily be found)

^^ you dont know much about e90's or e92's do ya
E90 is 325 and 330...E92(coupe) is 328 and 335. This is an e90 and has the 17'' 325i sports pakcage wheels/suspension. so i am almost positive it is a 325i ![]() EDIT:/ OOOPS, tooo late

Congratulations. I was going to point out the run flat tires but you beat me to it. Also, the lack of dipstick and spare tire, the cupholders, and that even if they are faster they don't feel that way. I don't know, I just don't care for the e90, although it's likely still one of the very best new cars available. I have had older BMW's and I plan on keeping this one a very very long time, likely longer than the any of the other four I had. Enjoy it, don't look back.

Oh and I definitely hope you either have navigation or don't wear polarized sunglasses, for some odd reason the radio lights are 90 degrees out of sync with the other orange lights, and you can't see the radio with polarized glasses on unless you turn your head 90 degrees sideways, but then of course all the other lights go blank.

I love that interior, its classy... but rugged....
Its so nice... will you let me paint it? it needs to be a portrait. If I had to come up with a name for that interior, I would name it something like... "Deep Brown Mountain Stallion" or "Seirra Nevada Sunset Canyon" Enjoy the interior before it starts squeaking and rattling! jk. |

I do have polarized glasses & I totally can't see the radio...
They raped me on the trade $12k , b/c I had 98k miles- of course now they are advertising the car for $16,900. Tint was limo I think but I don't know the percentage |

Mine were/are both 325's- the new one is definitely faster, the steptronic is now also a 6 speed vs. 5. Handling is hard for me to compare b/c I went from coupe to sedan - both have sports package but I think my old car would out handle the new one. The run flat tires detract from the ride I think too, although now you can drive 50 miles on a flat & there is a low pressure monitor. Comfort is a bit better since the car is bigger, my sport seats have side bolster power adjustment and power lumber which my '02 did not. All in all, I don't think BMW screwed up the 3 series, if/when you have to replace an e46, I would definitely prefer an e90/e92 over an Acura TL or a G35...
