Not neccesarily true, my key only unlocks drivers door (once) and then unlocks all doors (twice). Holding yeilds no bonus. My dealer said its a 'convieince' option and i would have to pay $110 to have them re-flash my key.

The new car is not my cup of tea. I like the soft top better. Not a fan of all the new (7 series, 5 series, 6 series) wacky tailights. Breaks up the continuity of the brand.

I'm on my 5th e46 so maybe I've been lucky...thanks for the info

They probably aren't going to make an E92 M3 Vert due to the serious weight issues.

I dunno, they're going to be making an E64 M6 vert. The M6 coupe weighs 3909lbs, so assuming the usual 300-400 extra pounds from the vert and you have one heavy (but probably still pretty fast) cabrio.

I am concerned about the M3 though. No matter how much power it has, too much weight will have an adverse affect on its handling.

but i wonder when BMW will bring the diesel versions here. now with the new diesel fuel regulations it's clean like regular gas and the cars are more powerful and get better gas mileage!!

BTW new 335d = 268 HP and 428 Lb Ft torque!!

About 30 less hp but 130 more lb ft torque!!!

i guess with 400 hp anything is possible.... handling has never been an issue for a bmw though

I really like it with the top down (although I hate that color)

With the top up though it looks ok except from the rear, looks very long and flat in the rear, I will have to wait to see it in darker colors and in person.

From the front I like it better then the current vert, from the rear I like the e46 better.

I heard a long time ago if there is an m3 vert for the e92 it may be softop, although that might be alot of extra manufacturing costs so I doubt it would happen.

They could always solve the problem with a retractable CF roof

Seriously, I was thinking about this the other day. Any chance that an aftermarket company will come out w/a CF roof for the vert? Just a thought....

Thats interesting and wouldnt be totally out of the question, I mean the M6's roof is CF, why not. I can see it being any harder to make, just wonder what the cost would be.

A CF roof would be sick. BMW would probably also use the same special thin glass on the rear window they used on the M3 CSL's rear window.

My '04 ZHP convertible has this feature. All I have to do is hold the unlock button on the key (after the doors are already unlocked).

You can get a manual online by registering in the Owner's Circle at BMWUSA.com. You'll need your VIN and some other information.
