I do have manual settings I can adjust. I'll have to look for more info but with regard to three different exposure levels, do you mean take three pictures at each of the following settings, for example: -2, 0, +2 - to get a more balanced histogram?

Just to make sure, do you start focusing on the subject (press the shutter halfway) as you move your camera (and then press the shutter), or do you move your camera first, then focus? I seem to get the panning shots all wrong.

as I like!

I currently have a EOS 5d MK1 with a prime 50mm 1.8. I had a 24-105 F4 L lense, but I sold it last year. Should I repurchase this as a walkaround lense?

Yes, I use the 24-105mm L lens for my walkaround lens, or you can get the 24-70mm L.

I gotta question. When shooting motion, do I make the shutter speed like 1/20 of a second, or like 2 seconds?

Number 5 kinda confused me

1/20 sec or faster depending how fast the car is driven (slower shutter speed also means more background blur).

Slower shutter also means harder to keep your subject sharp and in focus. When I'm panning, I don't go any slower than 1/60 of a second and it gives plenty of background blur.

Example, I shot this at 1/80 of a second:

I was just talking about car-to-car shoot, not panning shoot.

Car-to-car meaning shooting a moving car from another car? 1/20 is even harder in a moving car than if you were standing on the ground.
