USAF... 12 Years... Lakenheath RAF UK... Fire Protection (Fire Dawgs)... BTW CE Does suck for EOD, Readiness, Liquid Fuels, and Fire! We are the stepchildren of CE.

BTW: Which part of sunny IZ are you in??? Maybe we're close by & we can grab some Green Beans & talk about Bimmers & H0es or something...

EOD is where the money is! Fire probably comes a close second, but I would imagine would be first at bases that don't have EOD units

yeah it really sucks... and the worst thing about it is since Luke is a AETC Det., the crew chiefs rarely gets assigned anywhere else... I know of ALOT of SSgt's that have been here since they've been in the AF. I hate 12hr days and it really sucks being our squadron is the only squadron that fly's night sorties. CCIP is really a pain in the ass.

We dont get "most" of the funding... we get what we need... we are normally at any base you go to the largest flight so we need the most money. As far as schools go that's a AFSC thing. Schools are allocated by AFSC not by Squadron. Unless it's something like NCOA or something... but remeber we are the largest flight and we still get sh* t on all the time!

Im not THAT young... I am 26 soon to turn 27 here in March so my insurance is cheaper than most people that are of the same rank as me...(Why I started late, I do not know) I do manage my money well and have good credit. I dont have any secrets other than me winning a small lawsuit from back in 2004 that I have been saving the money for to put as a down payment but I will admit that I am not graced with money and I dont have rich parents however I am just fortunate that I have people in my life that co-signed for me to help me out. I get looks everyday from most people and ask the same questions as to how the hell I am able to afford it and it seems like I am the talk of the base. I am not banking any of my BAS, that gets taken out for meals being that I live in the dorms and I dont get BAH because I can't move off base till I hit SrA (E-4) so I just pay for it straight out of my check every month. I dont stay with my parents, them being back in GA and me being stationed here in Phoenix Arizona. With that said, I pay for everything on my own with no help from my family, I still have money left over and it is MY car, not mommy's and daddy's.

Well it sounds like you have your finances together and money straight. Just a small word and NOT ADVICE. I'm an FA in my civilian job and a PL for the ARNG unit I'm at and I make it my business to talk to my soldier's about the importance of saving and investing today for your future. Hopefully your supervisor is talking to everybody regardless of what type of car they drive.

If you were in the Air National Guard, it could be understandable because most of us would assume your civilian job covers that m3 payment. Nevertheless have fun with the ///M!
