im working on a pioneer avic-d3 on my e46 coupe, since the heater core in the inside pertrudes past what i need in regards to spacing to fit the 6inch deep pioneer double deck i am taking it appart and extending everything, wish me luck!!!!! i will have pics up as soon as i can get it working. and if anyone know of any e46 m3s that have done an avic-d3 please let me know!!! i havent found anyone that has done one without cutting the heater core/airbox behid the stock radio. i do see that mybimmer.net has double din kits, and one is for the e46 and it looks like the pioneer unit is on it, im trying to understand how. is the depth different between a coupe and a 4 door??? anyone... thanks!!!IcEbErG

you have to cut all that sh!t if you're going to put in a D3. the depth just requires you to, no way around it. coupe and sedan depths are the same.

for the m3 cluster changeover couldn't you replace the oil temp sensor in the engine bay with an m3 one or something like that to get the oil temp readout and fix the m3 warmup lights? i know people who swap around older and newer RSX stuff and doing k20 swaps have some similar issues like that. or s2000 clusters in EF civics and DC2's

Wanted to know if i can change my steering wheel to an m steering wheel. I see that its a simple swap "once you have round airbag". Wanted to know if mine would be a simple swat..i have a 4 spoke steering wheel. The car is a 99 328I

you need a round airbag, look at your steering wheel it's a square airbag.

Yeah it does. All strut bars are interchangeable as long as they clear the car's engine.. M3 bars are all backward compatible with non-M's (although some require about 1mm of sanding from the underside of the hood..)

on craigslist this guy selling a m3 steering wheel with the following does not include with multifunction buttons and M trim. well does the buttons fit from my 325ci sport package steering wheel? and will have to buy the m trim elsewhere! $100 on craigslist, no hardware just the wheel and the hub itself. will running the wiring be easy?

if your airbag is round and if your sport wheel is the same shape - the buttons will transfer easily and the wiring and airbag will swap

the trim is 03 M COVER SCHWARZ 1 32347833355 $124.99

I think the fronts are good but the rears are longer...

getting my rear bumper put on after the holidays...mmmm

total cost of conversion 4000 dollars

total price i paid for my BMW with 75k 12,500

so 16,500 for a fake M3 coulda maxed out one of the credit cards and bought a real one...but i dont have to worry about valve adjustments

Wait you're paying $4,000 for an M3 rear bumper retrofit? Or does that include fenders too?

All OEM wheels & tires, front bumper, fenders, rear bumper, spare tire cutout, and exhaust.

well add about 4 hundred for lights and projectors onto that Alec.
