The shimming depends on the car, but you'll for sure need to spread out the fenders toward the front. Sometimes the hood sticks up in the front, other times it sticks up in the back. It all depends how you install it. The best way to do it is install the hood, test fit, center, test fit, move fenders outward/inward until satisfied, test fit, repeat if necessary, shim, test fit, tighten everything to spec.

if i shim it (where do i actually shim it?) won't it mess up the aligning of the bumper and corner lights?

Hey I'm a little confused... If I get the Kevlar re-inforcement bar then I ony need to bolt the side of the M3 bumper to my fender?

Has anyone swapped their 330 engine for an M3 engine? Shouldnt the mounts and contacts be in the same position so you can just drop in the new (and larger displacement) engine?

People have done M3 swaps into a few cars including wagons. Just do a search its not that easy but it has been done.

are you asking other than the fact it'll be too wide to line up?

search "Mite46", he has a website detailing the swap. probably much easier/cheaper in the long run to just buy the M3.

Yes it's too wide so I figured stretch it inwards by attaching it to the fender. But unless you get the re-inforcement bar I heard it sticks out forward also. But someone told be it's much more involved then that so I pass the OEM M3 bumper up and instead I'm getting an Mtech II rear shortly.

Thanks. I'm just thinking ahead to when the coachwork is still nice but the engine is a bit worn. I put over 100mi a day on my car so it will not be too long until I am looking at a replacement of some type. I just love this E46 with the performance setup.

Hi Alec

Was wondering would you have xenon headlights for a 2000 E46 318ci coupe.
Lookin for a set but no luck yet.

Thanks

Does anyone know if the longer trunk handle of the facelift model (2003-) fits the original trunk?

Thanks
