Thanks,
the leg extender is not power on the M3 either. on a coupe it's plug and play. seat belt recepticiles are the same and underseat connections the same. if your car didn't have power or heat and the new ones do, there will be some new wiring you'll have to do. i've upgraded my seats to the M3 seats with power lumbar and back bolsters.

Read all 16 pages of this thread and not 1 mention of side moldings. the M3 moldings are totally different. I found out the hard way, the car is in the shop. We ordered the M3 moldings for the fenders and they did not match. They are cutting the original 330 moldings to fit the M3 markers. Anyone else change the moldings? chrisbostonusmc I noticed you put the molding on and they look like they do not match, what did you do on your swap?

The didnt match from what I recall from seeing his car, good call though! I think he ended up using M3 moldings on the doors and had the gap filled in. I saw his car at Eurofest Raleigh, he finally finished the job and put a S52 turbo in. I think he's banned?

Does anyone know if you can fit OEM M3 shocks/struts and springs on a pre-facelift sedan?

I know, some people are gonna say, why don't you just get shocks specifically made for a sedan? It's because my shocks are going on 140K miles and I can acquire M3 shocks and springs just paying for shipping so it will be really cheap.

But before I get these, I want to know if I'm just wasting my time and a little bit of money. I hear you can put these in a coupe by using the original M3 hats...

nice write up... im sure its helped loads of us...

Just one quick question...

I have a UK spec car E46 Coupe (2000) and bought a UK Spec M3 Steering wheel.

My car did not have Radio controls and does not have Cruise control. The Steering wheel has been fitted but I was wondering if you know any wiring details so that I can buttons to light up when I turn the lights on at night.

Also I have a BMW Business Radio/CD head unit. Is there any way of making the Radio buttons work?

Here is some more info i found regarding fitting an oem m3 bumper on a non-m vehicle that i found while searching...

http://www.e46fanatics.com/features/...php?news_id=43
http://www.e46fanatics.com/features/...php?news_id=42

I was wondering if:
1. anyone had a sequential set of pics using these or any other techniques for this mod?
2. any good pics of the m3 bumper attached but not "corrected".
3. any new ways of doing this mod?

i know there must be a million threads on this but for the life of me i can't find them!!!

thx

Here's a thought: (Anyone try this?)

It's been mentioned that the M3 hood will fit by spacing out the fenders slightly. So in trying to fit the M3 bumper, couldn't you space the fenders out in the same manner or is the gap just too far? (about an inch).

I'm replacing both these parts so i wonder if it'll work?
Anyone had any experience?

I'll provide some info on my attempt once we get started at the shop.

I want to get to the bottom of this as well....
But instead of a Sedan....Would the OEM M3 Shocks/struts/springs would fit a E46 Coupe....specifically a 323Ci?

Cheers!

Just don't do it. No matter what you're planning to do, it's not worth your time and/or money.

That goes out to everyone.

There will be zero performance or aesthetic gain, the upper strut mounts are different, and all the suspensions are calibrated for certain cars with certain weight ranges. Don't mess with any of that stuff.

My Ride: is Stage 2 AWD!
Alec, not sure if you know but I'm getting ready to do my brakes on my 325i and I've got a buddy who is willing to practically give me his M3 parts since he's just upgrading everything. I was originally going to do the 330 upgrade but this would even be better and cheaper if it could work. Anyway, I know now the suspention isn't compatible but what about the brakes? If he gives me his full set of brakes including the carriers, will those bolt on fine? Also will the ebrake still work correctly or is that the part that's not compatible? Thanks for shedding any light on this subject.
