- With two people, it will take a pretty long time, probably months. If you have a garage with lifts and and engine lift, then cut that in half. The most time-consuming part would be the electronics (body work too) - It doesn't matter what kind of gearbox he has now, either way you're removing everything from the car and essentially stripping it down to a bare shell. It's really not that *hard* of a project though, just rip out the whole interior and all body panels, label where wiring goes in the M3, cross-reference it to the sedan, double check that all the wiring will fit in all the right places, rip the sedan wiring out, put the M3 wiring in, install the M3 DME, swap engine/transmission/driveshaft/rear end/front suspension/brakes, connect important things to the DME/wiring harness to test basic functionality, then dedicate the next couple years of your life to figuring out all the little things.

There isn't that much a market for just the rears, as many have done what you did/have to do. What you might do is buy two replica wheels, some look very close and are inexpensive. If they're 19"s then that Evo style I know they sell. You probably will still be able to use rear tires and have it somewhat look staggered. 255 are what bmw runs on the rears I believe and you'll be fine. But as mentioned, if depending on how much invested and funds you are willing to spend. It might be easier to sell and start from scratch. You can look in the classifieds here under "Wheel and Tire" and see if anyone is selling the M3 Evo wheels. Used M3 wheels are not uncommon for sale as they fit only the M3 and those owners are bored with them.

Looks like you might have to shave the inner rear fender and use smaller tires. |

I'm looking to fit some Oem projectors on my 2000 323ci but i'm a little hesitant. My question is would 2003 M3 headlights fit my car (2000 323ci)? if anyone can let me know if so and what would i have to do... or if they do not. Thanks & appreciated.

OEM M3 mirrors and OEM CSL trunk
Hi Alec,
just read the DYI for M3 mirrors and came across this: "I am told the MY2000 328cis and 323cis have the 6-pin connector that the E46 M3 mirrors come with. If you have a MY2000 323ci or 328ci, your job has been greatly simplified and you must now simply connect the new M3 wire harness (6-pin)." Is this true? if so i'll get M3 mirrors from 09/99 for my 328ci without checking - otherwise I'll have to take a look? I also have a OEM CSL "ducktail" trunk - can I just get i painted and put it on? I realise that that I should check both - just wanted to know if there was a quick way/lazy way ;o) Best, Kevin Ps thanks for answer on sway bars - I'm going for the H&R m3 sway which is 30mm (3 adjustment holes) and 330d (stiffer) eibach prokit springs - it's looking good so far! |

Yes, the CSL trunk will fit, all coupe trunks/mirrors/doors/side skirts are the same, including M3. Check how many pins are on your mirror connectors, all you have to do is pull off the front door panels. Just order the mirrors from the dealer to correspond with what you have in your car. When I ordered mine, I just ordered 6 pin autofold; they showed up 2 days later and plugged right in and have worked perfectly ever since, including the heat.

In my car, I just bought an M3 wheel and round airbag (both used), and they were direct bolt ons with no airbag light or issues since.
