Help with Tyres (UK)

I am running standard M Sport 18" wheels on my 330D with 62000 miles on her.

I recently fitted a new pair of Michelin Sports 90Y to the rear and the handling has turned to soup. The back end feels like crap and the whole car is very unbalanced and twitchy. I have replaced 2 rear springs, both front wishbones (oem) and the front bushes !

I took it to my BMW dealer who switched all 4 tyres/wheels from a different E46 and the car was great ! Has anyone else suffered this with Michelin Sports ?

My dilema now is that Michelin will not swap the rear tyres until they have been inspected and my fronts need replacing anyway. So - should I just bite the bullet and buy 4 new Michelins or can anyone recommed a good grippy tyre that is reasonably priced ?

Many Thanks

New rear tires...

I went thru the same thing recently (two new GS-D3's on the rear). Check this FAQ from the TireRack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...e.jsp?techid=5

It was quite the thrill ride for a while there, but it will "go away" after your new rears have been scrubbed really good. No need to get rid of your new tires, just be patient and careful in the mean time.

Not the answer !

When I say recently - I mean time wise - the tyres have actually done over 3000 mies so they are well and truly scrubbed in !!

I dont really like the Michelins to be honest, I wont be getting another set for my 325 tourer.

I get my tyres from falken, try falkentyres as a google search, they are mail order but the owner (Justin Gale) is a right nice bloke. 255/35/18 were about 100 each
