5v cable needed

It sounds like you need to upgrade your iPod interface cable. The older dice units were designed for use with the then current 12v iPod models, however the newer iPods use 5v. DICE remedied this with new interface cables. See here ~~~~> http://diceelectronics.com/dock-5v.html

good luck

these DICE kits are the quirkiest things ever... it works fine with my IPOD classic, but with my IPHONE, i get a variety of messages, yet it works... so IDK what to tell you... best of luck...

BMW should have incorporated a plug as a standard option!

My Ride: 2002 BMW 330Ci
Just put one in this week. Corporate CD radio, ipod Nano 5th gen, 2002 330Cic. Updated firmware on both before installing. First time I used it, it went wacko after i pushed preset button 3. Froze up. Had to disconnect wiring in trunk and try again. PNow playing tunes and can advance one tune at a time off steering wheel. Pushing preset buttons doesn't seem to do anything. I have installed a variety of these type of units in other vehicles, Chevy Silverado, Mazda3, Volvo V70, Ford F150 with no problems. This one, not so much. Hopefully playing with it a little and searching for discussions or calling the manufacturer will allow me to access it's full potential.
