It's too bad you can't experience this kind of torque earlier

man........but how can I tell if I get +15 or not without going down for a dyno (by just shipping my ecu instead) is it THAT much of a difference, that I can tell RIGHT away?

You can do a dyno before you get software and then after. You don't have to go to Speed Innovations to do a dyno.

Believe me, you will feel the difference.

You don't even have to do a before dyno, just after. Considering your engine is stock save for the intake, just add a max of about 5HP to your stock rating.

So will the folks at the stealership make a fuss if I bring the car in for maintenance or anything else if they find out I tuned the software? CAN they find out?

I take it, the unit is easy to remove and plug back in if we go the shipping route (as opposed to the drive-to-LA route).

Where are these dyno guys located? Also, can you guys get in touch with them, work something out, and offer the dyno for me included in the price? (just as if I went down there and got it dynoed personally). I just need the after dyno, just to MAKE SURE the #'s are there on paper lol...I might/might not be able to feel the power, as "feelings" are very individual, and can be biased at times, etc. For example, someone who just spent money would want to claim "oh yah, there's definitely an increase; after all, I spent quite a lot for this mod" lol u know what I mean? Let me know if you guys can work a dyno out for me, then I can guarantee my ECU reflash results, ALONG with the 30-day money back guarantee (which if I'm not mistaken, covers the ECU flash itself + the shipping that we had to pay to send the ECU down to L.A.)

Yo, answering your 1st: Hermosa Beach, CA.

BTW - those dynapack dynos? Probably the most accurate dynos I've ever been on.
1) It's not load bearing - it's probably with all the tranny losses accounted for, the best translation of FWHP to RWHP out there..
2) No rolling dyno issues like camber adjustment, wheel weight, tire type, tire health...CAR weight.
3) No strapping in a car, so it's not like you wait for hours if you were to install a mod, dyno, and uninstall afterwards, it's pretty quick.

Here's an awesome article that Shawn Church wrote himself:
http://home.earthlink.net/~spchurch/...ting/id12.html

Try to find these - I know they're hard, but even dyno runs cost less because of their ease of use. Hell, it keeps everyone's dyno database organized at least?

To be honest, if you REALLY cant "feel" the difference then JLevi and SI hasn't done their job. Amongst all the other enhanced drivability stuff that's unlocked in ECU tuning, it's worth it. Hell, all my cars are SI tuned (03C230K, 02Audi 1.8T B6, 014.4i X5.

The dealership will not know about the software upgrade. In fact, they cannot void your warranty even if they do know about the software change unless the software can be attributed to a specific problem.

SI takes special care to modify the software well within the limits of the engine so you will not have any issues as far as reliability goes.

hey Nick or Jon, can you guys get in touch with someone that dynoes using Dynapak or whatever it is (locally to me)? I'd like to be able to get the ECU tuned, and run a dyno afterwards to see how much I'm pulling at the wheels

well I mean like...could you guys include that in the pricing (just as if I were to drive down to L.A. & you offer me a free dyno, etc.) ? If so, then you guys would hafta work something out with Speed Merchant no?

We can only do the free dynos if they are performed at our place down in Southern California.
