My first install complete
First and foremost I want to "THANK" a few of the guys here on the e46fanatics forum for their patience and help along the way! I took on more than I should have... but with their help it got accomplised!
Rich @ mybimmer for an awesome bezel and links to many different threads to help us with our installs. ca1242 for his insight, honest opinion and help with install questions! Tom @eas for his informative nature in making sure we have all the information to make the right decision for us! bigjae1976 for his knowledge, honest and upfront opinions! mrdecibel for your great stepbystep pictures and instructions! Carlos Medina from Crevier BMW for his help in ordering and delivering parts! My first install included: Pioneer Z1 with back up camera, bluetooth, Ipod and SWIX Steering wheel controls Focal Access 13" Sub Front Speakers - Focal 165CV1 Rear Speakers - Focal 165V2 Audison Amp SRX2 to the Focal Sub Audson Amp SRX4 to the front and back speakers Many feet of Dynamat in doors and trunk The sound is incredible... I see lots of fun in my future now that it is done. Edscapade |

Are the amps mounted upside down? Also, how is your fm radio reception? It looks sweet-congrats!

dpgrand - Yes the amps are mounted upside down, and the FM reception is very good.
Bimmerboi19 - I installed the camera lens in the trunk keyhole. Picture is great...for something different you can watch who is behind you while you are driving. |

do you hav any diy instructions on how to remove the key mech from the trunk and install the rear-view cam??

Here is a picture of the camera lens. Sorry... I do not have DIY instructions. I followed the instructions that came with the lens. After looking at picture, I will try to take one where sun is not so bright.

Yes you have to make some modifications for the vents. mrdecible... has a great step by step instructions on how to install! I will forward the thread later. |
