My Ride: just an M3, sort of
Fuel pump is under the back seat, seat pops off pretty easily. There are two round metal plates that will cover your pump access holes. 95's should have two pumps, one to the engine and one that pumps to the other side. All the wireing runs inside the car after it crosses through those two metal plates, so maybe the weight of the back seat is pressing on some wires, grounding or shorting them out...

My Ride: Rental...for now.
after about 11 or 12 hours of labor...I am now finished installing my 3:15:1 limited slip differential from a e39 M5 onto my e38 740iL. The fit was perfect, but I would have been pretty upset if it didnt after plenty of grease and fluid sprayed me in the face and extremely torqued bolts that wouldn't break loose. I bashed my finger with a hammer 3 times, (the same finger). I swear to you guys I cried once...i feel awkward telling you guys, but it was painful bashing your finger a third time.

Royal Purple Fully Synthetic 75w90 gear oil is what I used to refill. Early tomorrow morning I'm taking a cruise out to my ol' friends shop out in Franklin to have my car Dyno'd again.

You guys gotta know how to start the day out right...and this is how I started mine...

This is the second time I bashed it with the hammer. The third time I'm not even going to post on here, it looks hideous.

I'll toss it in the glovebox and work out a good way to meet up. I'm on the northern outskirts.

That's a pretty nasty slamming. I was fairly miserable during my caliper rebuild too fidgeting with the thing for hours late at night to get the piston back in. I just about gave up then gave it another shot and it went in fine, damn thing. Part of the problem is not having a work bench and vise to secure the thing so I could line everything up.

Damn old seals since 1997 wouldn't come apart so I pulled out the sludge hammer to break the seal. Did more damage to my finger damn near. Seems like when the air is cold your bruise hurts way more than when it's warm outside. Why is that?
