cardboard is for a mold...it's the shape of whatever you are trying to make basically. duct tape would be used for filling in small holes. When fiberglass dries it will be hard as actual glass. bondo would be for shaping. prime and then paint.

Use spot putty for the holes. Do you have a pic or drawing of what you're trying to do?

Ok, nevermind. I think we are talking about two different sized holes. Are you using the duct tape as like a backing plate for the glass?

do they sell fiberglass kits at auto parts stores? I know they sell little ones at lowes/home depot, but the fiber sheets they come with are smaller(lie 4"-5" squares), depending on how big the opening is you are trying to cover that may be your best bet, i see problems with duct tape in the long term...

DIY fibergrlass work? Sounds like it's going to look like hell. Even the majority of the "professionally-made" fiberglass parts fit like crap.

i know marineifra i saw it in wal-mart just a few minutes ago. Jwm5 i'm only using the duct tape for a back support so I can have a solid surface to work with...the fiberglass will dry and be hard as a brick.
