They're owned by ford not made by them. Although i'm sure they try and cut some corners and share parts bin. Also, British ford isn't the same as american ford....basically just the same name.

The current generation was design by the Land Rover guys in UK when under ownership of BMW, hence the use of the M62TU 4.4 V8. BMW sold it to ford shortly after. Yes ford usa is different from ford uk and australia, but they are still under our ford. Ford sold them to Tata an indian company that started out making buses.

Ford has very little if any design influence on range rovers. They just supplied money for R&D. If u notice, they actually stole a bit from land rover. BMW too, auto hill descent was exclusively a land rover feature, then after bmw the X5s have it, now Fords. I'm sure Tata buses have that sh1t by now too.

What's wrong with Ford? They make safe cars, something to be said for that.

Fords have been a bit different since the 90's, unlike the other US automakers. Problem is it takes much longer to clear your name up for US than for the japcrap automakers...

So true. 2011 Mustang GT is amazing. Heck, the previous ones were good too (5 star crash test ratings, 87 octane even in the GT, why don't they advertise this stuff?).

Already got an exhaust, I need a good looking tip to go on it. I'm riding around with black exhaust piping sticking out the back.

The Challenger/Charger/300 all look decent, but they're built with that typical cheapness that people have come to hate American cars for. Also they're severely over weight and handle poorly, yet another facet people have long hated American cars for. Its finances are a mess too. That company is going to go the way of hte dodo bird.

I've worked for Ford, Dodge, and Nissan. The most quality I have seen from any of the three automakers was Ford. Challenger/charger/300, were nice mercedes (almost every part on the car that wasnt the body had mercedes symbols stamped onto them, and came from germany), but, like most of the new dodges, they are far too heavy.

And I wouldnt go near a chevy right now, JD power (owned almost 40% by GM before the govt buyout) rated the new malibu the worst initial quality of any car in the last 20 years, and had a bunch of other great things to say about the rest of the lineup.
