Hey Benzin why do the newer MB's make that gurgling sound during startups. Turns out my lawyer drives a SL63 amg and his sounds wicked on every startup.

Damn man, who is the lawyer? I want to make friends with him lol.
I know the gurgle you're talking about, I think it's just the nature of the exhaust tip diameter size and the cam profile. Not all never MBs are going to do this...the AMG 6.2 liter V8 though......

the sl63 and 65 I've seen and heard make this sound. I'm pretty sure the s550 amg makes the same sound. The E550 amg i'm not too sure, but I believe it does also.

They all pack a loud gurgle on start ups... sounds like open headers at first then quiets down to an incredible silent beast.

Not to forget, the c63 amg and E63 amg are monsters too.

and edit: stopped by DynoTunedPerformance, its a block from my house. Some really cool guys work there, and the new place looks nice. Maybe for one of our meets we can get a dyno day going...
Good idea. I'd like to dyno my 135i. It feels slow. I'm not sure if it has some carbon buildup or maybe the dealer flashed over my dinan software. What dyno do they have?

Yea, the seat belt tensioners have small explosives that tighten the belt just before an accident. Supposedly, when it goes off it gets hot and could burn the insulation laying right beside it. If I get a letter I'll take it in.

Because they have to tighten the belts very fast, just like the airbag. If you think about it.. most cars have several explosive canisters. THe steering wheel airbag, side airbags, tensioners, passenger side airbag and many have rear curtain airbags. I think my 135i seats might even have side airbags. I'll bet it's loud during an accident!

yeah i know the airbags, but youd think since the tensioner works based on brake force application, theyd have the time to use a motor to tighten it. i dunno. pretty cool really

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car,
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,
Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
