The military ones arent even colts all the time. I was just reading a gun mag on the differences between a Mil spec AR, and a "Mil spec" AR. Good read. Basically as benzin said, you have to look at each one and find out why its different. Some get rid of the crappy gas impingment design, some try to improve it, some just copy it. Bolts, carriers, springs end up different, even though they look basically the same.

but I'm going with this,

Or this

My Ride: IR M3 Vert.
The M4 I carried for my last 3 years was a colt, but u are right, now that I think of it I do remember seeing some none colt ones.

Is it true that the none military/leo ones don't have full burst?

Oh, my buddy just hit me up, he has 13 of the no longer in production "Blackhawk" edition SIGs for sale. $1100 each.
He's a licnesed store, so if anyone is interested. Lemme know.

Wow...just wow...though I guess I don't blame you since the news keeps calling them assault rifles and automatic weapons.

No, the ones you can buy don't have full burst...or 3 shot burst...semi-auto only. You CAN buy a full auto gun, but it will require thousands of dollars and a lot of paperwork.

AS far as the Blackhawk edition sigs, could he have meant Blackwater? If so, which Blackwater? There were a few...

Was just looking through a DIY for radiator replacement and there is supposedly a special tool to remove cooling fan. A)Do you really need to remove the fan? B) Anyone have the tool?

i had to remove my fan when i did pulleys on my 325. it was an auto so it wasnt the easy one to remove. i remember seeing that tool mentioned. i didnt use one and from what i can remember about the removal, i just got 2 decent sized wrenches and braced one on something and manned the bolt off with the other. dont know if that helps you though, haha

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car,
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,
Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Some people make due using a long screwdriver to wedge between the WP pulley bots and try to hold it in place when breaking the fan free (reverse threaded remember). I was meaning to post up to see if anyone has one as well, I believe the local CCA has one available for loan if all else fails.

After further reading it appears that you don't need to remove the fan in coupes. I guess i'll know for sure in a couple days. Thanks guys.

im not sure of the brand of M4's we use at work(im not a gun nerd), but those things are pretty damn reliable. we did a month of heavy heavy shooting and other stuff, and really the major weak point in military M4's are the magazines. we'd do drills where we'd have 6 full mags, burn through them on full auto just to see who could reload the fastest. youd hear them slow down a little, but they still kept shooting. and i only wiped mine down once the entire time i was there, the only malfunction i had was from a faulty mag.

You're just doing the rad? You may be able to get away with it. I'm changing everything. Have a stewart pump, new thermo, hoses, etc. So fan has to go.

Yeah I've replaced everything else already and the radiator was the last man standing.

Getting the shroud out of the way may be tricky with the fan still in place, but thats likely the only snag you'll hit.

I made a tool for fan removal but I think it's a little short so if you need it I can weld an extension on it so it'll be easier.

What work? Because my armchair commando knowledge tells me that the ones the US military has been using don't have the greatest record when it comes to sandy environments.

I like the Ruger design because you'll never need a carbon scraper in your life. Why rely on a gas impingement system when there is a good piston gun now?
