Trying to fix my fog lights, brand new and dont work. 99% sure electrical, but i hate electronics and wiring. Googled the ****, not much help.

Anyone who knows wiring available one evening this week, or this weekend, to help?

Xenon fogs require 35w 12v ballasts right? Traced the car power line down to the fogs, connect power/ground to ballast, power gets converted or whatever in the ballast and goes out, take the ballast out lines and connect to fogs. Turn key on, lights on, fog button.. No fogs. Wut?

Confirmed you have good power and ground to wires just before ballast? Fuse good? Sometimes the OEM wires/fuses dont like the surge of "ignition" of HID bulbs and will go bad/pop. If you have good 12V supply and ground just BEFORE the ballast and arent getting any illumination its either you ballast or bulbs that are bad.

doubtful... you're most likely going to have to remove/paint/reinstall and hope it doesnt get broken in the process to get black trim. Or you'll pay a pretty penny to get it anywhere on the forums/dealer/online

So advice please, At some point I must have dropped or banged my GoPro HD camera on a table or something while out of the case. The glass lens has a few micro chips on it (srs ). I am talking the glass on the actual camera and not the plastic case (which is easily replaceable). So before I attempt to buff it out I was wondering if anyone has any advice for products or other potential ways to attempt to eliminate the "chips".

I can see them if I hold it in a good light source, and can feel them, so its not just dirt. They are on the upper side of the lens and when sun hits it the camera focuses on the chips or it distorts or whatever and the top of the image is blurry, basically making the camera useless. I will eventually replace it (Hero3) but would like to try and fix what I got to at least make it useable if not perfect. I was thinking maybe car polish and wax, but I have no specific experience buffing glass anyone have any tips or suggestions.

You'd probably have to start with something pretty rough.... 600-800 grit range for "chips" and work up to 3000 grit. Then a rubbing compound should, and a lense polish for a final...

when I say micro chips I mean very small but you can feel them with your finger tip or finger nail if you run it over. I have various grades of wet sandpaper, but what type of rubbing compound, like car polish or something specific to glass you think?

Ah. I think you'd be better off sourcing a new lens.
It being HD I think it will always pick up the marks no matter how well u buff it out.
FYI hero2s are mad cheap now. Hero1s even cheaper. Scored one for $130 just before the 3 came out.

Regular rubbing compound and a power ball buffer. Snik may have a point. I've never tried this on something that shoots HD through it.
