Supposedly the main character is based off someone like that. Heard it from a buddy though. Apparently he caused a lawsuit and everything. But it's a military rumor so you never know.

I finally got the car today! Too bad I spent 3 hours at the DMV, paid stupid Virginia sales tax, OH and broke my foot the other night and am on crutches. Sort of put a damper on what was supposed to be a fantastic day. I'll bounce out of it, though. We're going to wash my car at Dave's tonight and try and kill that keg.

There is no way in hell I'm driving down to VA Beach when I get off work at 5.

Yeah some of the **** is far-fetched imo. Like in the commercial when he lifts all the 155mm rounds that are chained together (like 10 of them). He lifts them all up by the center wire (arm strength). Which is bullshit, because lifting one of those *****es is back breaking enough. Ask me how I know .

True, but you got to remember its still a movie. Its actually a really raw movie with little to no hollywood bs. I actually spurted out wtf when he pulled those rounds out of the ground, but it was the only little blunder in the whole movie and you kind of forget about it since it happens really early. The movie does make the 1st infantry guys look a little bad, but nothing overly offensive.

There is more to pick apart, but I'm not going to spoil it. It was an entertaining movie though.

Yeah I hear ya, and I understand completely. But movies like these that are supposed to be a depiction of what's happening don't always work. Or maybe I always have to over analyze. Either way, if the main character was a completely made up role, then a lot (emphasis on a lot) of his actions were completely off. At least in my opinion, with the current knowledge that I hold about the subject.

However, I have heard that EOD is the Wild Wild West sometimes. And other times I hear "Safet First Safety Always" etc... But OPSEC!
