H1 Hid

I'm getting a H1 HID kit for my e36, but I'll be upgrading to an e46 within the next couple of years, just wanted to know if I could switch my H1's to the e46 or would I need to do something else..

You'll need H7 bulbs for the e46 (with possibly custom or modified bulb holders depending what year/shape), although the ballasts should work.

But HID kits are so cheap these days, I'm sure in a couple of years you'll just want a brand new one as they'll be even cheaper by then.

Buy an E46 with HIDs if you can. Kits that "upgrade" a halogen housing are complete and utter garbage.

If you are retrofitting into stock halogens, you will need H7's.
