best hiding spot in coupes w/ cup holders. remove cup holder console

I did this accidently when i stuck too big a water bottle in the cup holder then yanked it out. the whole piece came off. underneath is a nice place for some extra cash or you know....

Anyone know what that little plastic thing under the steering column (around where your left knee would be) that flips down is??

I found it open the other day and all I do is push it and it snaps back in... It's like a little black cover to something that locks and swivels.

I think you are talking about the steering column tilt lock. Pull it open and see if you can move your steering wheel up and down. If that's not it, let us know what you discover.

That's your OBD port. The dealer plugs the computer into there to read all of the system codes. You can do that yourself if you buy an OBD comp. about $200 from Pep Boys.

There is one easter egg not mentioned in that list above:

Just before you gas up at the station, leave the key at "Acc" position, and toggle the OBC to "miles/km left to empty". Then watch the computer increment upwards as you fill up the tank.

My windows roll down with the remote.

First the windows, then the back vents and moonroof together.

Fun to do while someone is checking the car out! A few times I have just pressed the key in my pocket nearby in the crowded sidewalk and made people jump.

This must be a new feature. I have a 2000 323ci. My dealer tells me that he cannot reprogram my remote to do this. I am suspicious.

I can get my top down by putting the key in the door lock. Thus, in my feeble brain, this should work for the remote too.

Anyone out there got the real scoop?

I can open all the windows and the moon roof with just my remote.
