My Ride: A BMW isn't a "Ride"
|
Hey guys and gals...
What is the board's opinion of Fikse wheels? I had a set of FM10s on my E36 and I am in the process of planning my upgrades for the E46. I notice you all seem to have a fetish for Hamman and ACS wheels, but I am looking for: 1) True 3 Piece Wheels- The #1 rule of cars in my book is that wheels will get bent (rule#2, never own a Land Rover that isn't covered by a comprehensive warranty). As such, I want true 3 piece wheels made buy a company that you can actually buy rim halves from in the event they get bent beyond the skills of Wheel Techniques. 2) Maximum Weight Loss- Remember of course, 1lb of unsprung weight reduction is worth 10lbs of sprung weight reduction. 3) (Wish List) Centerlocks- Why? Because I have this twisted fantasy of owning a touring car. I already have air jacks... hehehe So yea, any opinions on the Fikse wheels or equal alternatives out there? |

yes..
i happen to work with fikse regularly, and i love them as you would see if you searched the archives of this forum.
fikse wheels are made out of some of the best materials in the wheel industry. you have a MUCH better chance of surviving a pot hole or the like with a fikse wheel than with an HRE for example. I would recommend them for sure. Also get the silver edge option (not to be confused with a silver lip). it really looks great and they just started offering it on a regular basis. if you want any more information about fikse let me know.
