Swapping stock light housing with Projector lenses

Alright this one might be a tricky one, donnu if anybody did it before or not? but won't hurt to ask....

There is an auction for projector lenses from a Xenon OEM headlight, can I get these and replace them with the low beam headlights in my stock '99 323i ?

cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320091236039&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:CA:1

here are some measurements as well:

I was also curious as to whether this can be done or not.....same car...323i ('99). Or would it be a better idea to just save up for the P46 headlamps that come with angel eyes?

There are two other important items missing for each side: the ballast/ignitor combo and the reflector assembly. The ballast/ignitor is needed to fire the xenon bulbs, and the reflector housing holds the projector in place.

Technically it is "possible" to assemble these into the halogen housings using your existing halogen bulbs. But without the above items you would need to modify either the projector or halogen bulb (or both) to fit the halogen into the projector AND you would need to do some fairly major modification to the halogen reflector assembly to attach the projector. It would be a lot of work.

You could also pick up a HID conversion kit to get the HID effect, but after all is said and done you'd be better off getting a set of used OEM assemblies complete (or P46s). Probably would be cheaper too.

My Ride: is dirty
Mounting the projector using a halogen assembly is easy, it's the aiming (making sure your right/left and up/down on both side is aligned with the highbeams on both sides) thats difficult.

Like stated above, its easier to just use a Xenon headlight frame.
