How many people just like to drive there E46...

And go to destinations just to get on the highway? But if you had any other car you would not think of doing it....

Me for instance, I'm taking a ride up to hunter Mt NY today just to get on the road and drive my car and plus I am bored today. If I had my old Toyota Solara, I would not enjoy it. As a matter of fact I bought my solara at the end of 03 and got rid of it to buy my E46 in 5/05.

I only put 10,000 Miles on it in over a 1 1/2 years, I never drove it.

My E46 I bought in 5/05 and I've already put 14,000 miles on it.

Yes I like taking long trips in my 325i. Like BMW says it is the "ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE". Nothing compares to driving my e46.

I love you E46.........four easiest words I can say in general, only to my car though.....

I have two cars that get driven ONLY for fun - my E46 and my '67 GTO.

For daily driving or going to the store or whatnot I drive my E39 528i or my pickup truck.

Actually, since I work at home, 95% of my driving is just for fun.

I mostly use my car to commute to work. Family minivan is pretty much driven everywhere else I go. When I had my Camry, going to work was very boring; I really hated it. After I got my E46, I am looking forward to getting in my car in the morning and counting the hours at work until I get to drive my car back home, even if it is in the 3rd worst city in the country for traffic.

Whenever I have a change, I love taking the long way home (twisties).

I just got a 'new' 1990 Honda Civic EX to take to the bus terminal. This is my first week not driving my car. I miss it soo much. The best mod for your car, is another car. You'll appreciate the shit out of it.

Yep. I answered that one too. It'll be a long while before I'm bored of talking about enjoying driving my car -- hence the term "E46 Fanatic".

I have a long commute, usually 2 hours a day. Being a car guy, a nice car makes those hours much nicer. I've turned it into my decompression time for the most part -- not counting those "stop and go commute" sort of days.

For bad weather and crappy commute days I drive a 4x4 truck with an automatic transmission and a decent stereo. For nice weather / crummy traffic I have a motorcycle...

But even with the commute, yes there are still times when I'll go out just to drive. Usually not on the highway though -- looking for something more twisty...

My Ride: is dirty
Yes, I normally take corners and onramps rather quickly, but I normally accelerate at a normal pace from a stop-light.

Man do I feel you guys, I'm what you might call an Extreme Mileage Junkie... I bought my E46 in Europe in July 1999. I just went over 190,000 miles, all original. It had 0 miles when I purchased it. It's seven years old and I still enjoy driving it as much as I did the first day I purchased it. I plan on 1,000,000 miles or driving it til it drops or I drop. I'm sure there are other bimmers I would enjoy as much as the E46 but mine is amazing and paid for... Excellent and thoughtful post.
