I was going to do the same thing but I found some smoked/reds tail lights on eBay for a good price

I'm going to smoke mine, but only with a light tint that still shows red. Kinda like the "Darkline" on the E90 Sports. But leaving the clear part untouched.

get a dark tint kit on ebay. Smoke looks sick, paint all the exterior trims, kidney and grills

Smoke it.

I picked up the 745li smoke kit from sticker city ($59.99) a few days ago and installed it in about a half hour. Get alot of compliments on them.

Installing smokes = easy

I would go with the stickercity tails though all you need is water and rubbing alcohol and an IQ above 5.
