simple tail light tint/smoke question
so i know a lot of ppl use the smoked film sheets at stickercity.com.. but i was just wondering if you could go to autozone or kragens and buy the tint sheets there.. would it be similar? it's a hell of a lot cheaper and convenient too.. haha
btw.. im not talking about that pre-cut stuff.. im talkin about that sheets that you can custom cut.. thanks! edit: oh yea.. and if i could do that.. would i be able to smoke my corners with the same film? thanks! |

It's cheaper because it's not pre-cut. You can get the same cheaper stuff (un-cut) at StickerCity too.

yea but the 3' rolls on sticker city are like.. $50-60... kragens is like.. $20.. and it's right down the street for me.. but iuno if it looks the same or what not? yaknow what i mean? does the tint film look good? and does anyone have a DIY on how to put it on?
my friend used to work at a tint shop so he said he'll try to help but he's never done anything like that on a tail light... i prefer the uncut so i can have left overs.. and could i essentially smoke my corners the same way? thanks! |

I don't know about the kragens but I bought mine at stickercity and I'm 100% satisfied...took me 10 min. to install on the top of my tail lights.

The tint you find at autozone and those places doesnt stretch or conform like the stickerycity ones... I've tried it, and even with a hairdryer, its impossible to get the stuff to curve without creases. Not to mention its thin as hell too...
stickercity ftw!

I have the eBay brand ones on my front corners/headlights. They are decent for the price, but aren't nearly as thick as the stickercity ones.

If you plan on doing the tails, I suggest you just get the stickercity ones. The eBay ones aren't as dark as the stickercity ones, but I didn't mind since they are on the front of my car.

well.. most of the smoke tails i see on this forums are on LEDs and i do not have LED tails.. so maybe the "less" dark smoke will be better for me...
very intersting 'half smoked' front headlights you have active! did you get that $10+$7 shipping kit w/ 24" by 12" film? that's the only one i see really on ebay.. i do appreciate your help a lot active.. making my stress much easier to manage.. haha. |

No problem bro, thats what the forums are for!
I got a kit that I think was $27 shipped, precut for the front headlights and corners. I cut them out that way because night time visibility was horrible when the lowbeams were blocked ![]() My tails aren't LED and they are perfectly visible at night. but I say go with whatever you want, it's your car and all that matters is that you like it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E...spagenameZWDVW thats the kit I got. The same seller sells a tailight kit as well for the same price
