Please post your knowledge on the P46S.

I asked Nick from JLEVI to try and do a sticky on the P46S. It seems that there are always question on these and I thought this would help out. I know when I was looking for info. on them before I bought them, this would of made life a little easier. Nick, will then try and sticky this as a P46S FAQ. So, post away any FAQS, install instruction or whatever knowledge you may have on them.

#1) The P46S(Projector 46) is to upgrade you Halogen based headlamps to HIDS(projectors).

2. you will need to reflash your lcm. for 02+ cars you have to flash for bixenons (you will lose your high beam function). before that, regular xenons. also it may work to pull out fuse 32 for 99-01 cars.
3. P46's quality is the next best compared to OEM.
4. search for "dde diy" for instructions on how to wires the angels provided with the P46

ok i got lazy and didn't want to type anymore lol

I have an 02 and I didnt have to reflash, pull a fuse, nor uses resistors It's...magic...

But generally, you do need a workaround in place as it's well documented on the forums.

5. You can chose Kelvin color temperature for rings and hids
6. Relatively plug and play
7. The halos are integrated (I dont think you can order them without halos)
8. You do not have to use hids, you can use halogens if you want
9. The high beams are halogens
10. The facelift versions no longer need to be modified, your corners will plug right in

i assume you mean confirmed? yes it's been confirmed. all it does is get rid of the warning. no fuse, no warning. but if your headlight does go out, there will still be no warning. but you can definitely tell your headlight is out with xenons already so it doesn't really matter.

yea and as i have forgot, some cars just get lucky and it's just plug n play.

Yep It is available for:
a) Screw In Coupes
b) Screw In Sedans (02-05 only)
c) Push in Sedans (99-01 only
d) Push in Coupes (2000-2003)
e) Push in/Screw in M3 (all years)

2. you will need to reflash your lcm. for 02+ cars you have to flash for bixenons (you will lose your high beam function). before that, regular xenons. also it may work to pull out fuse 32 for 99-01 cars.

99-01 and some early 02s just need the fuse 32 pulled and it doesn't matter what HID system you use.

02-06 (M3 for 06) will only require one style of HID ballast to work, we have this ballast and will guarantee that it will work on your car perfectly. However, if you want a different system, we also have a resistor pack that is external for $20 and a FULLY PLUG AND PLAY resistor pack for $45 that will be tested later this week for full compatibility.

3. P46's quality is the next best compared to OEM.
Yes, but the more important part here is the covers/inner trim are interchangeable as are the H7 bulb holders and weather stripping.

4. search for "dde diy" for instructions on how to wires the angels provided with the P46

Generically, the Predator Chromium instructions - found www.umnitza.com for Install resources section - will do more than enough for the wiring and the mounting of the ballasts is any flat dry surface.

5. You can chose Kelvin color temperature for rings and hids

Correct, from 3000K all the way up to 8000K (we try not to go higher) and same for hids or rings.

6. Relatively plug and play

Except for wiring the angel eyes, yes, 100% plug and play.

7. The halos are integrated (I dont think you can order them without halos)

yes, this is true

8. You do not have to use hids, you can use halogens if you want

If your HID bulb burns out (rare, but it happens), you can put in an H7 halogen and plug your 9006 plug into the back of the light (instead of the HID ballast) for night time driveability.

9. The high beams are halogens

yes. unless you have paid for a rare dual projector setup

10. The facelift versions no longer need to be modified, your corners will plug right in

Correct, Umnitza and retailers of Umnitza products have had this for 2 years now.

You make us blush
Some other important points - we still have a group buy going on so yes, it's in our best interest to discuss these:

12) They can be ordered with a motor for auto-leveling functionality if your car already had this functionality. This may or may not be a special order item, it depends on availability at the of purchase, check first.

13) They are Euro or US models. We predominantly sell the Euro version to maintain flexibility in selling to the UK/Aus/HK because those blokes drive on the wrong side of the road. So the projector has an internally swappable lens reflector.

Matt,

Thanks for the input!

Can you explain this? Are you saying a reflash won't be necessary?02-06 (M3 for 06) will only require one style of HID ballast to work, we have this ballast and will guarantee that it will work on your car perfectly. However, if you want a different system, we also have a resistor pack that is external for $20 and a FULLY PLUG AND PLAY resistor pack for $45 that will be tested later this week for full compatibility.
