I will give that a try now. After looking at all the wires carefully and seeing for anything that maybe exposed, I found that a small part of the insulate on the power source wire was scrapped/peeled. I went and wrapped it in 2 wraps of electrical tape.

But that didn't work =( still blew the fuse. Thanks for the input guys. This sucks cause I just got my replacement ring too and then my kit decides to go all wacked on me

It was my ballast.
So now the question is, can any ballast work or does it have to be a Pred.Chrom one, cause I have 2 working ballast from before, only thing is the wire colors to the harness are different colors.

Does anyone have an extra Umnitza ballast around that I can buy

wire color doesn't matter. all of these ballasts are the same. as long as you hook it up with the correct polarity, you're golden. fyi, you can get new ballasts from vibelights.com for $4.50 each. they look a little different cause they're cased in aluminum, but they work perfectly.

Awesome thanks guys, this $4.50 is way better then the $25 and w/e if its aluminum. It'll be unique.
Just one thing are the + and - ends of the wire going into the ballast from the harness the same? Or will I have to DIY the connection?

The connections may not be the same, but it would be best to solder them anyway. Mine weren't the same (but i got ebay rings). I soldered them and they work like a champ.

if you're talking about the ones from vibelights.com - they are a 2-pin connector (don't 'member if it's male or female). I just cut them off and soldered the wires. :-)

Oh nice, getting brand new stuff for free is great. It doesn't really need tobe usefull, haha just as long as its free.

no worries about the pics. I figure out the wiring when my ballast come. If they worked for your preds, Im going to guess they'll work for mine
