It works. I owe you a few beer. It has been over a week now w/o the dreaded CEL. Because there was no room on the E39 where the O2 goes, I only used the short NON FOULERS but so far I'm excited. Thank you very much for damn good idea

You are very welcome. Good luck. I am keeping my fingers cross

Sometimes the CEL light when come but it will go away randomly. It all depends on the temperature, weather condition, and the way you push your car. For example, expect the CEL to come on in a cold morning when you are flooring/over-reving your engine. But again, no worries because the light will eventually go away.

this is just a "trick" and not a "fix"

Doesn't work for everyone, unfortunately. I have 2 non-foulers AND cats, and I still have an SES. My issue is that my cats and O2s are in the middle of my car. Being so far back, the DME is getting confused because the O2s aren't getting the pulses when they should.

The other issue is for anyone who has the new Technik Gen3s. As I found out (along with a few others), Technik made a poor call with the positioning of the O2s (poor for the people needing to install 2 non-foulers. The issue being that the O2 plus 2 non-foulers is too long to install if you want to keep your transmission. It butts right into the bellhousing.

Luckily, software is on the way. I had to take the expensive route.

Kudos to you for the writeup, though. It WILL work for a lot of people.

Good point.

I have a very similiar setup as yours except for the headers and the type of Cats.

I have a TSE3 with Technik Gen 2 with magnaflow cats. I plugged up the second headers o2 sockets and welded my own past the transmission pan.

Anyone know if cat-delete software prevents the catalyst monitor from coming online? Why does this monitor take so long to reset?

I talked to AA about their software to get rid of the CEL for not having cats. They said all they can do it turn off the CEL light for not having cats but when you hook it up to the computer the copmuter will not pass you!

They said:
"YOU will have to sign a waiver for the NO CATS set up, you have to also understand that you will not pass the OBD 2 scan test for emissions"

Its P1192 Post-catalyst Fuel Trim System Bank 1 which is weird thats not the code I usually get? Maybe the 02 sensor is damaged?

finally did this today, and got my codes cleared, we'll see if it comes back. and just an fyi, there was really not enough room to put these in, i definitely couldn't have stacked them per this thread. i only used the "long" one, the 42002, though with the stock o2 bung on the ebay headers, they are already about as raised up as the short defouler.

Yea, I had the same problem as you adam. I put one on to see if it would clear one bank. I definitely got both codes so I think somehow I gotta get the short and long one in, but there definitely isn't enough room. I'm thinking if I uninstall the headers, then put the defoulers on w/ O2 sensors and then put the headers back in, it should fit, but I dunno yet.

I have until December to figure it out.
