I assumed that he put a clear coating on them for electrical insulation and to prevent corossion.

IS he even using the copper rods to power them? I thought they were only "housing" the wiring not being used for power themselves?

And I also made new carbon centercaps for the wheels.

Even if they were just housing the wiring there is still a very big chance of them becoming live.

As you can see on the picture, the copper goes through a 5mm aluminum plate.
In the holes where the copper passes there's a plastic tube isolator to prevent short circuit.
It's fixed with bolts on the bottom side to prevent vibrations.

I think he means if someone touches them they would get shocked, but I remember you had some kind of grill covering the whole thing. I'm just too lazy to look back to find the picture

The copper you see is massive, there's no wiring or such inside.
