You must have a ballast to provide the 700+ volts these things require. However, you don't need *these* ballasts. In theory, you could use a ballast/starter from any flourescent light fixture, as long as it is for a tube of the approx length and provides the correct current.


What type/rating fuse are you using? I would recommend using a fast-blow 1.5A or at most a 2A. That will hopefully stop the burnings...

I just ordered two also...the total was $16.50 including shipping....sweet....thats cheaper then my "under warranty ballast".

im using the fuse provided with umnitza p46 headlights...not sure what kind of fuse it is...ill check it out

i have vibelights.com ballast, they work great!

sweet...i cant wait to get mines.

how come only one side...(driver side) requires a ballast for the p46 angel eyes...and the pass side doesn't....i know i know...its a stupid question...i always wondered...anyone know?

i think the other is built into the headlight.

i have 2

The replacement ballasts I got for my X were soo much bigger and heavier than the originals, hopefully they last twice as long...atleast.

were did you purchase your replacement from??

i got the cheapest one. like sstainba said. it was 16.50 for 2 when i bought it.

my p46 only came with 1 ballast for the driver side....

are you sure your pass side doesn't have the ballast inside the housing?

i never checked....i dont see how they can fit it in there...but i will check

yea, they should be able to. the new ones come with them inside

You were indeed suckered into paying for a product and shipping under them. Vibelights.com sells replacement ballasts for much cheaper, and have some that are even BETTER than the ones provided by unitza. I've found that the so-called "lifetime warranty" is a sales gimmick, especially when you have to pay for more to replace a bad part (like ballasts) than it would to just buy it outright. In contrast, I've bought DDE Titaniums/Raptors, (available from uniqueeurodesign.com), and those do come with real "lifetime warranty" that doesn't cost a SINGLE penny to replace anything. They don't require deposits, charge shipping costs, nor require pictures and other proof that their product is really defective or at fault.


Anyway, bookmark vibelights.com for getting replacement ballasts in the future than to overpay for shipping and for a replacement ballast through that vendor.

wait..the new ones come with them INSIDE the headlight? well thats the way it fricken should be. Why didnt I get that type. I bought mine only like 3 months ago.
