Is it illegal to start fire on beach in Cali?

My friend told me it was illegal to start a fire on the beach...WTF?

that is one fukin gay ass rule..

so where is it LEGAL to start some fire?

btw..just a small bonfire like thing

its not allowed... only on designated beaches that have firepits and stuff...
i did it once with some girls....

we had one of those logs and we just lit it on fire on the beach at night...
the beach patrol guy drove up and poured sand on it... and that was that.. he was nice tho
