Please help me achieve a better body!

Hi,

I love this forum and I am here almost exclusively!

I just have a couple of questions for you guys. I am trying to get a better body. As stupid as this sounds, I have done some research and so far this is what I do.

My DIET:

Breakfast: 6 hard boiled egg whites

2 hours later: pure protein bar

2 hours later: a double meat turkey sandwhich, no mayo. Mostly meat with two slices of bread and a little mustard

2 hours later: pure protein bar

2 hours later: Chicken breast with vegtables

2 hours later: 6 hard boiled egg whites

daily vitamin every other day along with chromium

MY WORKOUT:
Carido on Tues, Thursday, Sat
Lifting on Mon, Wed, Frid, Sun - protein shake right after workout.
I usually lift 8 reps of 3 sets at the gym when I lift. I do full body workouts.

Am I following a good plan? Anything I can do to improve my results? Anything I am doing wrong?

All my life, the only thing I wanted was a great body! Please help me!

looks pretty good... might want to add some oats to your breakfast to give yourself some energy in the morning.

Drink tons of water.

Also, might want to give some details of your workout as well as what you are trying to achieve (i.e. body type, weight, size, leaner, bigger, etc)

I am trying to achieve a cut body. I am only 5'8'' so I don't want to get huge, because I think it doesn't look good.

I am really trying to get definition and become cut. I currently weigh in at around 170 pounds.

I do try to eat a lot of protein and consume water heavily. I just want to see better results!

As far as my workouts are concerned, I try to do different excercises everytime. WHat are some techniques I can employ when I am lifting?

You should stick to a routine at the gym. Bouncing around to different exercises is a good way to lose focus. That being said, it is also important to change up your routine every couple months.

If you are serious, write yourself up a routine and keep track of your progress in a small notebook.

Where are your carbs? Great protein load, that helps build muscle, but you need complex carbs and fats to recover and replenish your glycogen stores.

My DIET:

Breakfast: 6 hard boiled egg whites, add half cup of oats, banana

2 hours later: bars are bad. try can of tuna, apple, glass of milk

2 hours later: a double meat turkey sandwhich, no mayo. Mostly meat with two slices of bread and a little mustard OK I guess, I'm not a sandwich guy. make sure you get it with lettuce, tomato, onions, peppers, etc.

2 hours later: again. get a meat in here with veggies, complex carb, and EFA. like fish and brown rice for example

2 hours later: Chicken breast with vegtables good. maybe go with another complex carb here like brown rice, sweetpotato, ww spaghetti

2 hours later: cottage cheese, natural peanut butter or almonds. add fruit if you like

daily vitamin every other day along with chromium. take fishoils as well

MY WORKOUT:
Carido on Tues, Thursday, Sat
Lifting on Mon, Wed, Frid, Sun - protein shake right after workout. make sure its > 40g whey with some carb source in there as well, unless you drink your shake and eat a meal (w/ complex carbs soon after)
I usually lift 8 reps of 3 sets at the gym when I lift. I do full body workouts.

try something new. do a split....

mon - chest, tris
tues - cardio, calves
wed - back, bis
thurs - cardio, abs
fri - shoulders, traps
sat - cardio, forearms
sun - quads, hams

Am I following a good plan? Anything I can do to improve my results? Anything I am doing wrong?

All my life, the only thing I wanted was a great body! Please help me!
hope the highlighted in red helps. you need to constantly be changing/shocking the body and you need more carbs if you are working out everyday!!

I'm not mad at you but I absolutely cant stand when people say this like they're going to blow up overnight. just and fyi, every huge guy you see has been lifting for years following a very strict diet. You will not have to worry about getting huge if you hit the weights hard

Not enough vitamins and minerals.

You're not eating "balanced" meals. M3bluewater, has made some good suggestions to address this.

Why do you take the "daily" multi-vitamin only ever other day? Take it everyday. For one thing, you need the calcium. Anyone doing heavy lifiting or high-impact cardio (running) should be worried about their bones. I don't see you drinking any milk. Plus the vitamins help speed muscle recovery and minimize soreness.

BUT you really should try to get as many vitamins as possible from real food instead of supplements. Try incorporating a small side of mixed veggies with every meal.

haha, I have friends who say this all the time. I just roll my eyes and explain to them how difficult it is to get huge.

yeah, not only friends, but girls say this all the time as well. Genetically women CANNOT get like men, so idk why they are so afraid to hit the weights in the gym. All I know is the best female bodies go right next to the men to lift.

there are waaaayyy to many misconceptions in training and nutrition. my girlfriend (one who eats pasta and gets down and dirty on the squat rack ) says that all her friends on her field hockey team only do cardio thinking they'll get huge moving weight, and that lettuce has too many calories in it!!! ( I know, right?? )

Just a FYI, I have been lifting since 21 and I am 24 right now. I know that huge muscles come with extreme discipline and hard work. I feel as though I have enough muscles, just trying to get more defined.

But, I understand where you are coming from, but I feel as though I am far from a beginner.

Thanks for the post, although I do not know how it helped my situation or gave me any suggestions.

I will be more detailed, so people don't assume things.

I'm curious, what are the downsides to protein bars, in general?

It's almost as bad as my female clients who say, "..but I don't want to add too much muscle" whenever I mention resistance training.

I hate that! I always tell them that, if professional male athletes, with genetics and hormones on their side, often turn to steroids to gain more muscle and that's on top of carefully planned nutrition and back-breaking workouts, then there's no chance of a woman tossing a few weights around and suddenly waking up huge.

Need some EFA's in that diet my man! Some carbs too damn. I went with a 40/40/20 ratio of protein/carbs/fats and I lost ~35lbs.
