Xenon flashing

I am new to this forum and BMW. I bought a 2000 328i about a month ago from a private seller. It has been fine up until the last week when the xenon headlights seem to 'flash'. I know they are self adjusting but I will be driving down a straight road when they seem to dip and then flick back up. Really annoying to the oncoming traffic who I guess think they are being flashed. Before I wander into my mechanic not a BMW gu,y but very good, with an open check book does anyone have any ideas what is going on.

Could be broken headlight adjusters that "bounce" whenever you hit small bumps or irregularities in the road. I had that problem. Fixed it by swapping my HID (Xenon) housing's internals into a halogen housing with non-broken headlight adjusters. There is a how to on the subject somewhere.
