Tail Light Tinting help

i have a 2001 325 ci and am looking to black out the car. i am just a bit worried about having the tail lights to dark. does anyone know how dark u can have ure lights tinted. and if anyone can show me some things i can use to make them darker (would prefer a tint rather than a spray).

Im guessing it all depends on the cops in your area, but if you have a light colored car, I say you go all out and black em out like ///OSS . If you have a dark colored car, IMO it looks a lot better if you do light tint, to give it that smoked look. Whatever you do though, just make sure you only darken up the red parts.

I bought a tint film from a sponsor and it sucked donkey balls. It was horrible putting on & then looked terrible, so I pulled it off. I'm going to tint it myserlf with regular window tint.

But im only going 30% on my reds, I got a black car as well

You can buy the smoked clears from ProCarParts. I put 'em on my car all the way around. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=486285

Here is what mine looks like

I got the tint from here:
http://www.headlightarmor.com/index....on=Custom&ID=4

Kinda pricey but the tint is thick so it adds protection.

EDIT: Here's another pic on my buddies Carbon Black M3. He tinted the whole taillight.

If you look at the lenses on my car a little closer, you'll see that the entire lens is, in fact, smoked. Just not too dark.

Yes and no. As long as you still have a red reflector, white reverse lights, and red tail/brake lights from the required distances than technically your car conforms to the law. However, it is illegal to have modified lighting on your car. The general consensus is that as long as it's not too dark, then you're okay.

That site has a kit for 02-05 3 Series sedans. This should fit on my 01 330i, right? I don't think shape of Tails has changed with facelift
