Thumbs Up

I just upgraded on Friday.

For $300 I bought a pair of DEPO DOT approved projector assemblies with glass projectors and factory style angel eyes from an eBay power seller. Not only do the glass projectors look better, they give you better light and will not blind on coming drivers.

Most after market HID kits use bulbs that are designed for projectors, placing them in a reflector housing will improperly scatter the light, leading to a very poor beam pattern. I'll show you some examples.

Below is the halogen beam pattern of a car using reflector housings:

As you can see halogens in reflectors have "hot spots" which produce a lot of glare.

Here is the same car retrofitted to use HID bulbs in the reflector housing:

Same "hot spots". The only difference is the headlamps are putting out up to 300% more light and a heck of a lot of glare.

Finally here are HID's in projector housings:

You get a much wider beam pattern with a crisp "cut-off line" that keeps the light projected on the road and not at on coming drivers.

Once I get time I'll take some pics of my car and post before and after shots to show how much better the car looks with projectors.
