New products from Optimum Nutrition

I don't know how many "hardcore" lifters we have on here but I just wanted to let you guys know of some new products available from Optimum Nutrition. Optimum Nutrition is one of my sponsors in my bodybuilding pursuits. Please keep in mind that even though they are one of my sponsors, I came to them, looking for their support as I have used their products forever. I'm not getting paid by endorsing their products, I just want to support them.

ON has come out with 2 limited edition flavors. The goal is to test the waters and see how much they are liked.

The first one is Pro complex Banana with added Micellar Casein. Many customers wanted casein added to the pro complex and ON finally did it. We will be adding Casein to all flavors if this one is a hit. THE only addition to the ingredients is the Micellar Casein to the Pro complex. Still, a pretty big addition in my book.

They also added the 100% Casein in Banana flavor also. Great before bed and a nice change up besides chocolate and vanilla. Both products have our Aminogen Protein-Specific Digestive Enzyme System. The reason casein is great before bed is that it is slow to digest and give you a constant protein supply for many hours.

Both products are out and ready to ship!

I wish I could take Whey or Caesin but ON makes great products...I regularly use their 100% Egg White solution.

I had spoken with a rep before who said that the 100% egg whites is an old product. Is there a possibility of ON discontinuing the product? I hope not because Whey, Caesin nor Soy works with my stomach/allergies.

UBERS4,

Do you have a link to this product? Is this RTD or powder? Is this product to gain mass or what? I normally just drink Cytosports Muscle milk.

As far as I know they don't plan on discontinuing the egg product.

Hartge50- it's a powder and here's the link-

It is used for mass gain and IMO, blows Muscle Milk out of the water. Have you ever looked what's in a muscle milk? That saturated fat content of it is way too high. It bloats you up as well.

I go through ON protein like water and candy, no seriously!

ONE thing I wish they had, was 10lb bags of Choc Mint, I go through the 5lb tubs so fast

Anyway, this sounds like a good option. I might buy it to throw in somewhere along the lines of the day, probably make it my new pre workout shake with the casein protein!

I still love my choc pro complex and casein wouldn't be usefulafter lifting, at least for me. I use my waxy maize with supp's then 1 scooped of pro complex to get rejuvinated, then another shake 10-15 later!

uberS4 - are you one of the athletes pictured on their webpage?

Also, since I believe I read that you have some sort of health- or fitness-related degree, would you mind explaining the benefit of Pro Complex vs the standard whey (the black tub we all know) and also if it is worth the added price?

robbing with a sword is a good thing

No, I'm not on the ON website at the current time. I am however on my own site, danielstevens.net and rippedacademy.com

There are a few differences in the Pro Complex and standard whey protein powders. Whey protein Isolates are 90% pure protein by weight, the purest you can basically get. By using Whey Protein Isolates, you are getting a protein that is quickly digested, with less fat, cholesterol, and lactose. 100% Natural Whey Gold Standard also has no artificial flavors or sweeteners.

Pro complex has a unique amino acid profiles and utilization rates. It combines 8 sources of protein to create a blend. It uses Whey Protein Isolates, Egg Albumen, and Hydrolyzed Proteins, and Free Form Amino Acids. Each serving has 60 grams of protein.

So, which one is superior? In all honesty, it depends a lot on timing. I myself use the standard whey post workout and use the pro complex as more of a meal replacement. Also, there is a slight difference in taste and flavors offered. My recommendation, try both. The fact we added casein to the pro complex is a major development so it's worth a try.
